Amazon-owned streaming giant Twitch has announced the launch of a chat room feature that will be outside the standard Twitch chat to the right of the live stream. The company is calling for new product rooms, and these chats can set up a streamer and interact with each other around topics or themes dedicated to both public and private chat streamers viewers, and customers. For example, a streamer can only set up a chat room for subscribers and leave it open 24 hours even though the streamer is not live, so there can be twenty-four hours of discussion even if the channel is idle.
Twitch, the first annual developer and fan conference, Twitchcon, announced the feature in October last year. Starting today, the rooms will be available to all users worldwide on the web and mobile, a feature that will come sometime in Twitch’s desktop client in the near future, the company said.
